Last Day in Roma

May 28, 2012

Our last day in Rome and it was raining. It was kind of a damper but we were lucky that the market we wanted to visit was still open - Campo de' Fiori. It was very cute with fresh fruits, vegetables and fancy pastas, spices and other Italian staples. Mom and Dad bought this cool knife thing that cuts things quite fancy-ly so that was fun. We were missing our fresh fruits and vegetables so we got some peaches, cherries and assorted fruits cups, etc. Dad got some special nuts too.

Then we hit up Piazza Navona again since it was close. Took a short cab ride to the Spanish Steps and chilled for a while. I took some pictures for people which is always fun. I offer to take people's pictures a lot, most of the time without being asked... I wonder if they ever get suspicious of me hehe.

Later that night we took a train to Florence. The train exceeded all of our expectations which is always better than the opposite happening. We got to Florence pretty late though and headed out to find dinner and see some of the sights since we were going to be there only one day. The Duomo was magnificent and interestingly, the square was FILLED with Americans. They. Were. Everywhere. I thought we were in America.. except people were walking around with alcoholic beverages - I guess no open container laws in Italy!
